Bad wars lead to bad peace deals, PM just realised

British Prime Minister Johnson fears that under pressure from the economic consequences of the war and series of defeats, Ukraine will be forced to sign for “a bad peace treaty” with Russia.

“Too many countries are saying this is an unnecessary European war,” Johnson said at a summit of the Commonwealth of Nations in the Rwandan capital Kigali. “And with that, the pressure is growing to move Ukraine, or force it, into a bad deal.”

According to Johnson, this is a dangerous development. If Russian president Putin gets what he wants in Ukraine, the prime minister said, it would be a threat to global security and “a long-term economic disaster.”
